Mt. Vernon Estate was the home to the first President of the United States and First Lady, George and Martha Washington. The historic estate sits upon 500 acres of preserved land from the original 8,000 acres during Washington’s time at the estate. Mt. Vernon estate is located about 16 miles outside of Washington DC and sits on the beautiful Potomac River.
Visitors will take in over 50 acres of gardens preserved from the 1700’s and 20 structures. The estate also includes the tombs of George and Martha Washington along with George Washington’s personal greenhouse. Mt. Vernon is by far one of the most popular historical sites in the Washington, DC area.
